The easy button is broken

Earlier this week I droped the garage door opener button on the front step and it flew into a million (5) pieces. It was about 1 AM and I cussed for a few minutes luckily the neighborhood was asleep as not to witness my breakdown. I then picked up the pieces of my broken life and proceeded to enter my modest home only to discover that the battery to my garage door opener was nowhere to be seen, presumably swallowed by one of the many snow drifts. I decided that morning was a better time to look for my odd sized battery, whereabouts unknown. Morning proved that it was nowhere to be found, the only hope I had was that spring would come and once again I would be able to open the garage door with the push of a button. Today that dream came true as I came home from church beside my door lay the battery, its odd size still unknown, shining like a golden nugget in the green grass where the snow drift once lay. I have yet to do the reconstructive sugery on the opener but have hope that it will be operational before I have to leave the house again.

Welcome to the world, we are so glad you are here.

Happy Birthday Cindy Paulsen!!!!!!!!

I may be 2 days late getting this published but it was worth the wait. I am very thankful for your friendship even though it may be over now that I published this photo that I have titled "Lowered expectations Prom Photo". This is one of those photos that can only get better with age, just like us.

Ode to Beer

I've had great intentions of blogging, I really have, I've even taken pictures to prove it just haven't found the time. So here goes, St Patrick's Day is long since gone all of the green hats and t-shirts are long since marked down and sold. The cabbage has been eaten or is currently wilting in the back of the fridge with other miscellaneous forgotten produce. What remains are three cans of Beamish Irish Stout. Thank you Ireland.

I got up for this

I awoke this morning to the sound of thunder. I decided that I should get up, go outside to get the newspaper before it started raining. When I steped outside (with my bare feet)I discovered that my paper was not there. As I was looking through the bushes for my paper, ice started falling from the sky. The paper is not out there, maybe its on the roof, maybe my neighbor across the street saw the whole thing and took a picture of me foolishly running around with bare feet with ice falling from the sky and is blogging about it now. Maybe.......

The End Is Near

Can you believe this is growing in my own living room? Its like a little piece of hope, its march, one step closer to warmness. Even though this month is almost 5 weeks long, its end is within sight. It has been so nice that plants are poking out of the ground all over the place not just in my font window. Still I will feel better when the month matches the temperature outside.

Resistance is Futile

I've been listening to a lot of jazz music this week. Today I discovered its calming properties as I resisted the urge to plow over the buick with the Jesus sticker on it driving 45 all the way to Hickman. She is lucky there is jazz in the world. I should have a lower insurance rate for being a listener.
